Abstract	The handbook is a compilation of ideas, strategies, resources, and suggestions for teaching French to children aged 4-7. It presupposes a school program in which French is taught as a foreign language for a brief period each day, although the ideas are adaptable to immersion instruction. Introductory sections describe the book's format and recommended classroom configuration and provide a series of brief introductory activities for classroom use. Subsequent chapters provide suggestions for vocabulary, games, songs, crafts, exercises, and evaluation. Reproducible visual aids are included. The chapters are organized by topic: numbers; colors; body parts; the family; toys; action verbs; the house; the kitchen; fruits; boats; wild animals; farm animals; school; the alphabet; clothing; the interior of the house; food; time; days of the week; the telephone; and holidays.
