Abstract | This document presents an overview of 32 research projects addressing issues related to vocational education and the transition from school to work, completed in the Netherlands during 1989-1990. For each research project, the following information is provided: research title, project number, the number of a previous or follow-up project where appropriate, name of the project leader, name of the research institute, details on the final report, and a summary of the aims and findings of the project. Some of the topics covered in the research are as follows: counseling in short senior secondary vocational courses, implementation of social studies courses, independent learning in higher vocational education, promoting educational participation at the upper secondary level, modular courses in vocational education, simulated training, learning processes in work experience situations, technology and occupation, the apprentice system, home economics and health education, science education, and foreign language education at the lower secondary level, physical education, educational finance, teacher employment, basic education in elementary vocational schools, and mergers in senior secondary vocational education.
