Abstract | "Literacy/Alphabetisation" is the Journal of the Movement for Canadian Literacy. Each issue appears in an English version and a separate French version. This document consists of the four issues comprising Volume 15, with the French issue immediately following the corresponding English issue. Each issue begins with Notes from the Editor and ends with Guidelines for Submission of Manuscripts. Number 1 contains "Literacy for Participation in the Economy" (Bill Fagan); "Environmental Print" (Pat Rigg); "'I Need Help'" (Nan Nichols); and reviews of "Alpha 90: Current Research in Literacy,""Leadership for Literacy: The Agenda for the 1990s," and "NewsAble." Number 2 consists of "Lettuce Patch Learning" (Irene Jensen); "La Magie des Lettres" ("The Magic of Letters") (Elise Mennie);"Spelling Tricks: Whole Language in Practice" (Mary Norton); "'Special Ed' Teachers in Literacy" (Michele Tessier); and reviews of "Taking Care: A Handbook about Women's Health" and "A Literacy Celebration." Contents of Number 3 are "Learning Disabilities--An Official Definition" (Learning Disabilities Association of Canada); "Adult Learners and Learning Disabilities--What Do We Know?" (Johanne Jasmin); "To Label or Not To Label" (Patricia Hatt); "Diagnosing and Teaching Adults with Learning Disabilities" (Ricki Goldstein); "Programming with Adults Who Have Learning Disabilities" (Fred A. Reekie); a review of "Adult Literacy Resource Materials"; "Learner Action Group of Canada--Mission Statement"; and "A National Literacy Strategy for Older Canadians" (Andrew Aitkins).
