Abstract | This document contains eight competency profiles for home economics courses. The profiles are rating cards that instructors can use to evaluate student performance according to a four-point scale, ranging from mastery to no exposure. Ratings for each task reflect employability readiness. Courses for which competency profiles are provided are the following: (1) exploratory homemaking; (2) home economics II; (3) contemporary living; (4) clothing and textiles (intermediate); (5) clothing and textiles (advanced); (6) home management; (7) housing, home furnishings, and equipment; and (8) family living and parenthood.
