Abstract	This report on proceedings of a forum to discuss international cooperation and adult education is divided into four sessions. Each session contains panel presentations on a theme and roundtable discussions. Session one, "Literacy and Adult Education: What Are the Issues?" contains the following presentations: "Towards an International Cooperative Paradigm: A Common Future, Shared Responsibilities" (Ron Leger); "Literacy and International Cooperation in the Next Decade: A Review of the Agenda" (Francisco Vio Grossi); and "Linking International Interaction with the Community Base" (Lalita Ramdas). In session two, "International Networking and Action at the Base," are the following presentations: "North/South Relationships: Who Is Supporting Whom?" (Herman Lovenskiold) and"International Networking and Action at the Base" (Paul Wangoola). Two presentations are in session three, "Beyond Donor-Recipient Relationships": "The German Adult Education Association (DVV) and International Cooperation" (Jakob Horn) and "Private Sector Philanthropy--The Experience of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation" (Arlon Elser). "Opportunities for Action: Literacy, People's Knowledge, Gender Issues, Environmental Learning," the fourth session, has four presentations: "Gender Issues" (Lalla Ben-Barka), translated from the French; "Learning and Environmental Action" (Moema Viezzer); "People's Knowledge/Participatory Research" (Rajesh Tandon); and "Literacy and International Cooperation" (Budd Hall).
