| Abstract | This document, which provides an overview of current educational policy and planning issues in Europe, was prepared prior to a UNESCO international congress on the planning and management of educational development. It is composed of five sections: (1) major economic, political, and social developments; (2) educational developments; (3) educational management; (4) educational planning; and (5) future prospects for educational planning and management in Europe.
