Abstract | These proceedings contain 38 papers--23 in French and 15 in English--that were presented in 15 sessions entitled: (1) Theory and Practice in Library and Information Science: The Context (Plenary Session 1); (2) Teaching Archives; (3) The Development of Library and Information Science Education in Developing Countries; (4) Research and Teaching in Library and Information Science; (5) Pedagogical Approaches in Library and Information Science; (6) Theory and Practice in Library and Information Science Education: The Debate (Plenary Session 2); (7) French-Speaking Experiences in Library and Information Science; (8) New Technologies and Library and Information Science Education; (9) Teaching Information Processing; (10) Teaching Systems Analysis; (11) Theory and Practice in Library and Information Science Education: The Future (Plenary Session 3); (12) The Actors in Library and Information Science Education; (13) Teaching Online Searching; (14) Continuing Education; and (15) New Developments in Library and Information Science Education in Arab Countries. Most of the papers include references. An introduction to the proceedings, the session titles in the table of contents, and brief abstracts of the papers are given in both French and English; individual papers appear in either French or English.
