Abstract | A study of the effectiveness of a fifth-year teacher certification program at the graduate level in Early Childhood Education was completed at Bloomsbury University of Pennsylvania in summer of 1988. Results from the two instruments that were sent to teachers who were certified in the program, and their immediate supervisors, indicated that teachers felt they were well prepared and that the employers were very pleased with the quality of work that the teachers were performing. When asked to rate their effectiveness in the classroom, 75 percent of the teachers rated themselves as being excellent. An analysis of the data gathered indicated that a program of training teachers at the graduate level in Early Childhood Education was an effective means of providing quality teachers for classrooms and centers today. Survey results are presented on tables and copies of the survey instruments are appended. (Author/JD) |
