Abstract | The Joint Council on Economic Education (JCEE) contracted for the development of this research and evaluation agenda (or blueprint) for its Developmental Economic Education Program (DEEP). DEEP involves local school systems in a formal commitment to develop systematic programs in economic education curriculum using academically sound materials and teacher training programs offered by the JCEE and its affiliates. The steps in the agenda include: (1) a review of research on DEEP, 1964-1985; (2) the establishment of a new research orientation, including descriptive baseline data, analytical quantitative studies, and qualitative studies of DEEP activities; and (3) the determination of the future role of this research and evaluation agenda.
