Abstract | The 21st annual edition of this handbook is presented, covering information of initial concern to prospective postsecondary students. It provides essential information regarding contact personnel, campus characteristics, admission requirements, program offerings, and application procedures for each college in Michigan and the University in Michigan. Also included is a variety of information pertaining to the various private occupational schools that are licensed or approved to operate in Michigan. There is basic information regarding the various financial assistance opportunities available to prospective students. A listing of more than 7,000 instructional programs available in Michigan's postsecondary institutions is provided with notes on which programs might allow a student to quality for teacher certification in a major field. Eight sections discuss the following topics: education and career planning; Michigan public junior and community colleges; Michigan public four-year universities; Michigan independent two-year and four-year colleges and universities; vocational school programs licensed by Michigan Department of Education; occupational programs licensed by other state agencies; program cross-index (covers all schools listed in sections two through six); and financial aid.
