Abstract | A bulletin for teachers and students provides specific information about the design, construction, and scoring of Alberta's Grade 9 French Language Arts Achievement Test that was administered in June 1986. An introductory section describes the purpose, nature, and administration of the achievement testing program in general, the students tested, program exemptions, reporting of results, and the testing of the population receiving instruction in French. The second section contains two parts, each describing a segment of the Grade 9 French Language Arts test. The part on the composition segment, a narrative writing assignment, outlines the testing objectives and principles, scoring procedures, and test design, and provides a sample composition assignment and scoring guidelines. The part on the reading segment, a multiple-choice comprehension test, outlines the testing objectives and principles and the test design, and provides an explanation of the cognitive levels addressed, sample reading selections and questions, and test item descriptions. The bulletin is provided in English and French versions. (MSE) |
