Abstract | Developed for teachers of educable mentally impaired students at the early elementary level in the Detroit Public Schools, this lesson plan format uses performance objectives based on the annual goals and short-term instructional objectives cited in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The format is intended to be concise and useful to members of the monitoring team and local administrators during the annual review process. Performance objectives compiled from a variety of curricular materials are cited and classified according to seven deficit areas: (1) handwriting and letters; (2) reading; (3) oral and written language; (4) auditory and visual perception; (5) mathematics; (6) attending skills; and (7) miscellaneous (health, science, social studies, citizenship). Several planning worksheets, student progress sheets, and handwritten sample lesson plans are appended. (JW) |
