| Abstract | Prepared to help instructors select the best available reading materials for children and adolescents, this bibliography contains short book reviews that have been previously published in the "Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books." Books for children and young people of all ages are reviewed, and occasionally an adult book that may be of particular interest to adolescent readers is included. The books are listed alphabetically according to author, and a title index is included. The books are indexed according to five other schemes: (1) the developmental values index is based on the analysis of each book for those elements that illuminate some aspect of achieving maturity; (2) the curricular use index suggests books for incorporation into the school curriculum or for supplemental reading in relation to curricular units; (3) the reading level index is arranged progressively by grades following the books for preschool children, which are listed by age; (4) the subject index includes both fiction and nonfiction; and (5) the type-of-literature index groups the books by genre.
