Abstract | The manual presents an Individualized Education Program development guide for working with special education preschoolers. Goals, objectives, and activities are specified in six major areas: (1) speech and language skills (expressive skills, comprehension skills, imitation of non-speech vocalizations, sorting by category; (2) self help skills (undressing, washing hands, pouring from a pitcher); (3) social/emotional skills (direction following, exploration of the environment, singing and dancing to music, associative play, rule following); (4) cognitive skills (recognition of familiar objects, naming of other family members, meaningful counting, puzzle completion); (5) gross motor skills (kicking, ball rolling, jumping, catching, skipping); and (6) fine motor skills (formboard completion, controlled scribbling, paper folding, bead stringing).
