| Abstract | This booklet presents information for those wishing to develop public education programs on breast cancer. The booklet's five chapters discuss: (1) public knowledge, attitudes, and practices; (2) program planning; (3) a framework for planning and implementing public information and education programs; (4) considerations for planning information programs; and (5) the National Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer information materials and education programs, which include a slide tape or videocassette presentation, a user's guide, a pamphlet, two posters, the "Breast Cancer Digest" (for health professionals), a print ad, a coordinator's guide, and a brochure and certificates for nurses.
