Abstract | This compilation provides an overall view of the state of national bibliographic services in 101 countries. The document includes data gathered via a questionnaire that was sent to 160 countries of whom 101 replied. Introductory materials include a list of the countries listed in the document; a brief discussion of the survey and how the results compare with those of two previous studies; additional sources for information on bibliographic control; lists of abbreviations and acronyms; the questionnaire; and a description of the organization and purpose of the guide. All introductory materials are presented in both French and English. Replies in either English or French are included alphabetically by country, and to the extent that it is available, information provided for each entry includes: (l) the National Bibliographic Agency; (2) Legal Deposit; (3) National Bibliography; (4) Special Types of Materials; and (5) Interlibrary Cooperation.
