AbstractThe guidelines contained in this manual were written to outline the role of the visiting team members and the team leader and to familiarize the team with the details necessary to conduct a comprehensive external evaluation of Wisconsin secondary vocational programs. The responsibilities of school personnel are also spelled out so that team members are aware of the advance preparation and planning that has taken place prior to the visitation. The team visitation guidelines are based upon statewide goals and objectives of vocational education as determined by the project advisory committee and project staff. The guidelines are meant to be used in conjunction with and as a second step following a comprehensive self-evaluation. The manual is organized in five chapters. The first chapter outlines the goals of the visitation team, while Chapter 2 is a handbook that covers the evaluation team selection and roles and the conduct of the site visit, and includes a preparation checklist. Chapter 3 of the guide is a team leader handbook that covers advance preparation and on-site visitation. Similar information for team members is given in Chapter 4. This chapter also includes directions for using the rating scale and principles of interviewing. The final chapter explains how to develop the team visitation report and includes sample reports. An overview of the program and a glossary of terms are included in the guide. Appendixes to the guide contain sample forms and blank forms. (KC)
