Abstract | This curriculum guide is intended to serve as a model for the educational component of a Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) reemployment training program for dislocated workers. The first section consists of a profile of the Dislocated Worker Project curriculum and an institutional data sheet. Included in the next section are an introduction to course instructors, an explanation of the Reemployment, Education Assistance Program (REAP) Dislocated Worker Program, guidelines for implementing attendance procedures, a REAP application form, and an introductory student guide sheet. Planning and management worksheets on the following topics are provided: program goals, program content, course tasks, course objectives, educational media, instructional materials, resource persons, available resources on dislocated workers, and student progress records. The remaining two-thirds of the guide consists of instructional units dealing with becoming oriented to the program, developing strategies for immediate reemployment and training, and mastering strategies for education. Each unit contains some or all of the following: a task statement; prerequisites and estimated times; an introduction; a unit outline; and a series of learning modules, each of which contains instructor guidelines, a module overview, and a study guide. Appended to the guide is a description of the job qualifications and duties of a job club specialist. (MN) |
