Abstract | The booklet is intended to help Arizona parents understand their role in the education of handicapped children. A question and answer format draws upon contents of P.L. 94-142, The Education for All Handicapped Children Act; Arizona revised statutes; and the State Board of Education rules and regulations. Four main topics are covered: (1) identification, evaluation, and placement; (2) records; (3) due process; and (4) parents, schools, and special education (which includes information on resolving problems through the local district and the state Department of Education).
