Abstract | These materials for Spanish instruction are based on the meeting and friendship of two Puerto Ricans arriving in Puerto Rico for visits to their hometowns, their discussions of Puerto Rican life, and a sightseeing tour of San Juan. Introductory passages to the visitors' dialogues are in English, and dialogues are in Spanish, with photographs, advertising, and other illustrations. The dialogue and story topics include transportation and Puerto Rican geography, food, leisure activities, San Juan history and historic attractions, and celebrations (quinceanero, saint's day parties, Discovery Day, the Fourth of July, and Christmas). Student activities include games, exercises, cultural activities, and reviews and discussions of the information presented. An answer key for the games and exercises is included. (MSE) |
