Abstract	The seven major papers in this collection discuss the implications of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) (Public Law 97-300) of 1982 from the points of view of its various constituencies. Two of the papers discuss the effects of the JTPA on national employment and training programs, and on state-level programs, while a third discusses strategies for local groups and individuals to use in enhancing education's role in delivery of service. The fourth paper discusses the connections between education and the private sector contained in the act, while a fifth paper outlines the implications of the act on vocational education. Two areas that will be affected by the JTPA, counseling and guidance and student organizations (job clubs) are the subjects of the final two major papers in the document. Other information contained in this document includes an anticipated timetable to implement the JTPA, a summary and overview of the JTPA for vocational education, and the text of the JTPA legislation.
