Abstract | This catalog provides performance objectives and performance guides reflecting 101 tasks being performed by workers in the records management field. The catalog is based on a records management survey of 300 records management professionals throughout the United States and Canada regarding task performance. Following a list of terms used in records management and a list of equipment and materials needed, the tasks are arranged according to the following 10 duty categories: general records management, records organization and evaluation procedures, active records, inactive records, vital records, micrographics, forms control, correspondence control, reports control, and reprographics. Each duty contains a number of tasks with a performance objective and performance guides. Appendixes to the document contain sources of the standards, equipment and tools needed in records management, a bibliography, and a cross-reference table of task performance by records management job categories.
