Abstract | The report describes a model, developed by the staff at Edison Community College in Fort Myers, Florida, for collecting and using follow-up information to evaluate and plan occupational programs. After a discussion of the issues to be addressed when evaluating an occupational program, a breakdown of information to be collected in a follow-up study of program leavers and completers is provided. Set forth next is a flow model for identifying respondents. Following an explanation of procedures for preparing surveys and protecting respondents' anonymity, three former-student survey instruments and an employer follow-up survey are presented. Also supplied are an information collection/analysis model and an information dissemination flow model. A discussion of procedures for using follow-up data as a tool for placement and guidance concludes the model. (MN) |
