Abstract | This report outlines development of a plan for assessing state and local efforts in the elimination of sex bias and discrimination in vocational education in Illinois. The first section presents in chart form the review of Department of Adult, Vocational, and Technical Education data sources on sex equity. The second section contains the Plan to Assess State and Local Practices in Elimination of Sex Bias. Utilization of in-place systems is first described. Next addressed is the assessment methodology for use of the fixed-alternative interview schedule and questionnaire. A Time Line for Assessment of State and Local Practices follows. The Sex Equity Assessment Interview Schedule and Assessment Questionnaire are then provided with directions for use and suggested reporting procedures. These other project documents are attached: review of literature reflecting status of sex equity in vocational education and annotated bibliography of selected sex equity materials and assessment plans produced by other states and federally funded projects. Appendixes include definitions of concepts related to sex equity, data sources questionnaire, and a chapter on survey research from a guidebook to action research. (YLB) |
