Abstract | One of four individualized courses included in a radio and television repair curriculum, this course focuses on alternating current relationships and computations, transformers, power supplies, series and parallel resistive-reactive circuits, and series and parallel resonance. The course is comprised of eight units: (1) Introduction to Alternating Current, (2) Alternating Current Relationships, (3) The Transformer, (4) Power Supplies, (5) Alternating Current Computations, (6) Series Resistive-Reactive Circuits, (7) Series Resonance, and (8) Parallel Resistive-Reactive Circuits. Each unit begins with a Unit Learning Experience Guide that gives directions for unit completion. The remainder of each unit consists of Learning Activity Packages (LAP) that provide specific information for completion of a learning activity. Each LAP is comprised of the following parts: objective, evaluation procedure, resources, procedure, supplemental sheets, study guide, and a LAP test with answers. The course is preceded by a pretest which is designed to direct the student to units and performance activities. (LRA) |
