| Abstract | The preliminary UNESCO directory to archival resources of international organizations that are part of United Nations Organization is intended to help overcome obstacles to research and information transfer. This provisional first part presents information on agencies belonging to the United Nations Organization itself, 14 specialized agencies and their subordinate institutions, and other closely tied international organizations. Information provided includes the name of the institution; its street, mailing, and telegraphic addresses; telephone and telex numbers; opening days and hours; working languages; names of administrative units responsible for archives; access and copyright rules; and facilities for consultation and reproduction. Additional descriptive information is presented on archives groups and the classes or series that compose them; other external groups; archives of the organizations held elsewhere; other reference sources available at the institution; and special interest information related to the history or origins of other international organizations. An institutional index and a list of abbreviations and acronyms used are provided. (RAA) |
