Abstract | This workshop package is designed to assist those persons responsible for the implementation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 in elementary and secondary school settings. The objectives of this second workshop session include helping participants to: (1) review requirements of the regulation to implement Title IX; (2) assess their own understandings of Title IX; (3) understand the significance of Title IX grievance procedures; (4) gain information regarding the structural components of effective grievance procedures; (5) develop skills related to potential responsibilities for grievance problem solving; and (6) increase skills ln identifying Title IX violations and in formulating corrective or remedial actions. Additionally, a comprehensive, step-by-step session outline and participant worksheets are provided as aids for workshop facilitators. (Author/HLM) |
