Abstract | To serve educators and administrators interested in planning curriculum articulation in vocational education, this resource guide addresses problems and procedures basic to that effort. It offers applicability and generalizability across vocational programs, from pre-vocational through college levels; to "external" resources, such as business/industry/labor groups, advisory boards and councils, and legislative bodies; to other educators and agencies dealing with special student populations; and to private vocational training programs. Its two sections--Planning and Implementing Articulation--offer brief surveys and step-by-step ways to recognize needs, approach local coordinators, set up coordinating committees, administer surveys, and rank student competencies in order of importance so as to allow for advanced placement, open entry/open exit programs, and to take advantage of a suggested competency-based student achievement record. Appendixes include charts, evaluation forms, a list of catalogs (either available or under development) on various job titles, and a Directory of Curriculum Articulation for Wisconsin. (CP) |
