Abstract | This module is the fourth in a series of eleven modules in an energy conservation curriculum for secondary and postsecondary vocational students. It is designed for use by itself, or as a prerequisite to all or any of the modules in this series. The objective of this module is to train secondary and postsecondary students in the recognition of energy users in the home and the implementation of energy conservation measures to manage energy consumption and energy efficiency. The text emphasizes the importance of recognizing energy users in the home and developing a conscious awareness of energy efficiency and energy management. It discusses the techniques of looking for energy conservation opportunities in the home and preparing checklists for monitoring these opportunities. The information is presented in lecture format accompanied by checklists and illustrations. A bibliography and several handouts supplementing the text material are found at the end of the module.
