Abstract	Financial statistics of Canadian universities and colleges are presented in this annual report. The report is divided into three sections: historical tables, summary tables, and detail tables. The historical section includes information on Canadian Association of University Business Officer (CAUBO) member institutions and also provides estimates for non-CAUBO institutions. The financial activities (income and expenditures) of all CAUBO institutions since 1971-72 are reflected in the summary tables. The detail tables display sources of income by fund (general purpose, trust and endowment, ancillary enterprises, sponsored research) and expenditures by both fund and function for 1975-76. The Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act of 1967 is explained and the impact of federal-provincial transfer payments is discussed. The data indicate that government grants and student fees comprised 86 percent of the total operating income of the institutions. A slight increase in student fees as a source of income is also noted for this period. Sponsored research funds increased 8.9 percent for 1975-76 and capital expenditures increased by 18.7 percent. The provincial funding schemes are explained for each region and a glossary of related terms is provided. (SF)
