Abstract | The transcripts of testimony given before the Senate Committee on Aging by representatives of numerous national organizations for older adults, such as the National Council on Aging and the National Gray Panthers, are provided. Issues reviewed in these statements address the following areas of concern: minority group needs, retirement planning, work and retirement attitudes, societal attitudes toward older workers, income sources, employment benefits, Social Security, and lifelong learning. The appendices contain items submitted by the national organizations dealing with the elimination of mandatory retirement and Social Security problems, as well as newspaper articles dealing with longevity, population trends, and early retirement.
