Abstract	Part of the Anthropology Curriculum Project, this document presents lesson plans and a pupil activity book introducing some basic anthropological concepts to students in grades K-1. The objective is to aid teachers in helping young children acquire an understanding of the concepts anthropologists use to observe, describe, and report social phenomena. The teacher's manual consists of 34 lessons covering important anthropological concepts and study methods, plus aspects of American, Kazak, and Arunta cultures, such as shelter, artifacts, family roles, community life, and religion. Each lesson states the learning objective; lists needed materials, key words, and prerequisites; details suggestions for teaching procedures; and summarizes the lesson, sometimes suggesting reinforcing activities. The lessons are planned to last 15-20 minutes daily for four days a week, requiring approximately nine weeks to complete. The student activity book contains 47 pictures with captions illustrating the daily lessons. The objective is to encourage the child to search for the concept illustrated and to express it in his own words. It also includes two maps, one page with large-print words describing anthropological methods, and five review activity pages. (CK)
