| Abstract | This paper describes development and organization of educational resources in the Republic of Korea since 1970 and documents the activities of a team of consultants from Florida State University in assisting with that development. Project activities are reviewed, starting with the initial collection of information and data on the educational system, the economy, and national needs, and ending in a report of project accomplishments and recommendations. Throughout this time span the work of the consultants is reflected in educational models developed, learning experiences defined, and technological innovations tested. The reform of the elementary-middle school program, i.e., grades 1-9, was a primary concern for this project. Also reviewed are the activities of the Korean Educational Development Institute, which was established in 1972 in response to expanding programs and educational change. (RAO) |
