Abstract	Designed to provide information for decision-making by Ivorian authorities in the planning of post-primary education over the coming decade, this study compares the implications of alternative policies or scenarios in terms of social impact, technological alternatives, enrollment, and costs. Two parallel channels are assumed open to students under all scenarios--secondary education, with its present structure of a selective first cycle of general studies leading either to the labor market or to further education; and complementary education, a new channel which incorporates general education and work orientation components, with a high degree of flexibility in response to the preparation and needs of individual students. Each scenario is described by the choice of a particular option in each of the seven relevant areas of decision identified; these areas fall into three categories--specification of alternative channels of post-primary education, options affecting student flow, and options affecting the efficiency (and cost) of providing post-primary education.
