| Abstract | This teacher's guide contains resources to facilitate the study of the world food situation in home economics classes. It provides terms, historical elements of famine, and the effects of hunger and dietary deficiency on humans. Brief overviews of the basic factors influencing the world food situation and some of the proposed measures to solve the problems are also presented. The guide contains a list of objectives (e.g., describe seven effects of hunger on humans), suggested activities for instructor and student, and instructional materials (information sheets, e.g., terms and definitions; influences on the world food situation), transparency masters (e.g., food supply-demand balance), assignment sheets (e.g., nutritional deficiencies and diseases), tests (matching and essay), and answer key.
