Abstract | Four units of instruction are provided in this curriculum guide designed for vocational agriculture teachers in planning and conducting classes for students with supervised occupational experience (SOE) placement programs. Unit 1 contains three lessons on starting an SOE program. Lesson topics are placement programs to consider, getting started in a placement program, and keeping placement records. Unit 2 provides three lessons on expanding the placement program: placement program up-date, summarizing placement records, and evaluating program success. Unit 5 contains three lessons on starting an agriculture cooperative (co-op) placement program. Lesson topics include co-op placement programs available, making arrangements for a co-op program, and obtaining a co-op placement position. The last unit provides three lessons on improving a co-op placement program. These are on summarizing records, evaluating the placement program, and opportunities in agribusiness as an employee/owner. Each lesson in the units generally includes an outline of the teaching procedure, transparency masters, forms or handouts, and a unit test with answer key. (JH) |
