Abstract | This manual, intended to accompany the student's text of the same title, contains: (1) a general introduction describing the nature and purpose of the materials; (2) an outline of the components of the package, including the teacher's guide, the student's text, and a slide cassette-tape program; (3) an outline of the general objectives of the materials; (4) the narrative that appears in the student textbook along with the English equivalent of each narrative; and (5) a sample pre-post test that corresponds to the stated objectives, with the answer key in French. The objectives stated are the following: (1) to provide historical information concerning the French influence in the Boston area, especially during the Revolutionary and post-Revolutionary periods of American history; and (2) to foster student pride in the French cultural heritage in America. The French words and expressions that are glossed at the end of the student booklet are underlined in the text of the teacher's manual. (AMH) |
