Abstract | The project grant objectives for fiscal year 1978 for the Chicago Regional Project serving handicapped children are analyzed in relation to seven student related objectives and one facility staff related objective. Statistical data for objectives in the following areas are included: self help skills, motor development, communication skills, academic skills, adaptive/adjustment behaviors or Community Life Experiences, enrichment activities, guidance/management activities, and inservice workshop activities. Reported among the problems identified are that a different approach is needed to compare and contrast needs assessment with service delivery, an either-or decision must be made which does not account for all services rendered because some individual service contract objectives cut across more than one project grant objective, and higher standards of expectations and refinement of service contract writing need to be emphasized.
