AbstractThis seventh edition of the Rehabilitation Research and Training (RT) Centers reports the FY 1976/77 research activities of nineteen RT Centers (twelve medical, three vocational, three mental retardation, and one deafness). These research activities focus primarily on the production of new knowledge which will improve rehabilitation methodology and service systems, alleviate or stabilize handicapping conditions, and promote maximal social and economic independence. The 417 abstracts included in this directory are organized under the conducting RT Centers which are located at the following institutions: New York University, University of Minnesota, University of Washington, Baylor University, Emory University, Tufts University, Temple University, The George Washington University, University of Colorado, University of Wisconsin, University of Arkansas, University of West Virginia, University of Oregon, University of Southern California, University of Alabama, Northwestern University, Texas Tech University, University of Wisconsin-Stout. Preceding the abstracts under each RT Center are listings of that center's core areas of research, completed projects, continued projects, discontinued projects, new projects, and proposed projects. Each abstract includes project objectives, methodology, findings, and applicability. The name of the principal investigator, status of the research activity, and relevant fiscal data are included in bolder type. Both a subject index and principal investigators' index are provided.
