Abstract | This document is an updated edition of an annual publication issued by the American Institute of Physics. It is designed for an audience of graduate students, faculty advisors, and persons interested in graduate programs in physics, astronomy and related fields. The publication has 2 parts and 4 appendices. Part I has a geographic listing of graduate programs in the U.S., while Part II covers the programs in Canada. Each listing includes the following information: (1) whom to contact for information on admissions, financial aid, and housing; (2) admission requirements; (3) graduate degree requirements; (4) graduate student support; (5) faculty, enrollments, and degrees granted; (6) research expenditures; and (7) listings of faculty members and their research specialties. Appendix I has the alphabetical listing of graduate programs by degree granted. Appendix II includes research specialties of doctoral programs. Appendix III gives areas of concentration of master's programs, while Appendix IV contains Physics and Astronomy manpower statistics. (GA) |
