Abstract | This first book of a conversational English program for adults contains an introductory section in Portuguese and exercises in English. The text centers around an English-speaking family from the United States that goes to live in Brazil. It contains color photographs with captions followed by exercises. The exercises are in English and involve the following: dialogue, questions and answers, learning strategies, vocabulary, oral composition, making the dialogue shorter, cultural information, role playing, grammar, formal and informal forms of names, dialogue completion, and reading passages. The exercises concern information and situations that would be confronted in real life. Review lessons are included. (SW) |
