| Abstract | This document is a compendium of evaluations of 27 federally funded vocational education programs in the school district of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as of the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 1978. Six projects which were scheduled but not implemented are briefly described. Twenty-four of the implemented projects were concerned directly with classroom or shop instruction, including three concerned with instruction of out-of-school youth and adults. Five projects were designed to serve the career needs of trainable and educable mentally handicapped students, socially handicapped, and the emotionally disturbed. Several projects emphasized individualized programs. Several projects were able to provide students with direct hands-on experiences. Some administrative problems associated with project implementation are mentioned. (Author/CTM) |
