AbstractThis curriculum guide for Levels I and II home economics teachers in New York State provides guidelines for developing instructional program content for grades 5-8. An introductory section describes the design of the homemaking-family living curriculum; presents procedures for utilizing modules in planning instruction with an example of plans for implementing one specific module; and includes suggestions for the development of courses. The remaining two sections of the document present the scope of learnings, the curriculum framework, and sample modules for each of the two instructional levels. The curriculum covers four basic subject areas (human development; housing/furnishings/equipment; food/nutrition; and clothing/textiles) and six content emphases (management, buymanship, leisure, careers, health/safety, and relationships). The following information is appended: an analysis of student needs and a needs analysis chart; a glossary of terms; a mini-guide for writing measurable behavioral objectives; and related forms. (Sample modules for instructional levels III, IV, and V, which cover grades 9-12, are available in a companion document, CE 014 566.) (BM)
