Abstract | This publication is divided into two major sections. The first section presents the objectives of science programs of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Sources of the program components and guidelines of carrying out programs are also presented. The second section presents a translation of a condensed version of the Arabic text on ALECSO's activities in the field of science and technology. The activities planned for the period from 1974 to 1977 are classified in five areas: (1) Scientific publication; (2) Environmental sciences and natural resources; (3) Center for scientific equipment; (4) Technology of science teaching; and (5) Scientific research and development. Each of these five areas includes a description of planned programs. Training courses and workshops for different areas are also presented. The technology of science teaching section is devoted to describing the process of developing instructional materials in mathematics, biology, integrated science, and physics for different educational levels in the Arab countries.
