Abstract	As the second five-year supplement to "Children's Literature: A Guide to Reference Sources" (1966), this annotated and illustrated bibliography reflects the emphases that have developed in the fields of literature and library service for children. New sections include selected bibliographies and critical works on nonprint materials, citations on research in children's literature, and works that now are available from French-speaking Canada. The book is organized by the following headings: history and criticism; authorship, with critical appraisals of individual authors; illustration; bibliography, which includes both American and British compilations and special bibliographies for the exceptional child and for group understanding; books and children, with subheadings on all aspects of children's literature; the library and children's books; international studies; and national studies. Current trends are evident in the increased number of histories and critiques of comics, of publications related to minority interests in the United States, of materials about international organizations and annual international conferences, and of items relating to translation and library development. All entries are annotated to indicate the relative value as well as the usefulness and appeal of the items described. (MAI)
