| Abstract | Summarizing Southern Rural Development Center (SRDC) activities and achievements during the October 1976-September 1977 fiscal year, this fourth annual report indicates that SRDC has been able to support rural development programs at land-grant institutions through sponsorship of workshops; issuance of publications, bibliographies, and a quarterly journal; the near culmination of 10 Functional Networks; and the development of a rural development training packet. Summary tables are presented which indicate SRDC impact on Title V rural development program renewals in each of the 13 states served by SRDC. The SRDC publications series (summaries or reports of the states' Title V work in rural development; useful or timely reports from several sources of applicability to several phases of rural development work; and reports of the work of the Center itself) numbers 22 titles now, and each of the 1977 titles is discussed in brief. SRDC participation in and assistance with regional workshops, visits to land-grant institutions, and opportunities for consultation are also described for fiscal year 1977. The appendix presents a tabular account of the Center's 1977 Plan of Action, including projected goals, approach (technique/method/activity), and accomplishments. (JC) |
