Abstract | Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, is a competence-based, baccalaureate-degree-granting institution created in 1971 to serve adults. The Operational Models Project was designed to improve the university's program for assessing experiential learning. Specific purposes of the project were: (1) to describe a program for assessing experiential learning, (2) to review to process of identifying learning outcomes from work experience, (3) to review the criterion standards used by the University in its assessment process, and (4) to study, evaluate and improve the Metropolitan University program. Samples of student degree plans, learning assessment agreements, and narrative transcripts of student achievement are appended. (Author/MV) |
