Abstract	This is one of six studies that describe the different aspects of education in Sri Lanka and how they were affected by the major educational reforms of 1972. This particular booklet discusses educational management and how it has changed in response to the 1972 reforms. Individual chapters focus in turn on the historical background of education in Sri Lanka and of the 1972 reforms, the objectives of educational management, the institutional infrastructure of education before and after the 1972 reforms, how the educational organization functions, the financial resources available for education, and the constraints inhibiting educational progress.
