Abstract | Focusing on the last in a series of seven seminars conducted by the Colombo Plan Bureau between 1969 and 1975 on the theme, "National Planning of Vocational and Technical Training," this report presents the proceedings of a seminar on the vocational education and training needs of one of the Colombo Plan members, Bhutan. Five working papers which provided the basis for discussion by the forty-eight participants are presented: (1) "The Economy of Bhutan," (2) "Skilled Manpower Requirements of Bhutan," (3) "Initiating a National Programme for Vocational Training," (4) "Human Resource Development in an Agrarian Economy," and (5) "The Colombo Plan and Bhutan." Seven speeches delivered during the opening and closing sessions are included, as well as recommendations resulting from the discussions held during plenary sessions. (BL) |
