AbstractThe full texts of all prepared statements and supplemental materials presented during five days of hearings held on the Elementary and Secondary Career Education Act of 1977, H.R. 7, which would appropriate implementation monies for the infusion of career education concepts into the existing curriculum of the nation's elementary and secondary schools, are contained in this document. Statements included were made by Federal, State, and local directors and other representatives of State and national advisory councils. State departments of education, Federal agencies, and various professional organizations. The statements, exhibits, and other materials present national, local, and institutional concerns regarding the purpose of the act, which is to assist states and local educational agencies in making education as preparation for work a major goal.
